Jocelyn Kuzelka
Stanburn Winery is happy (and lucky) to have Jocelyn Kuzelka as the winemaker. She moved to Patrick County as a teenager. She graduated high school early and then went on to Virginia Tech where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. She then moved to Australia and studied at the University of Adelaide and received her masters of Oenology. She moved back to Patrick County to start a small vineyard with her family and began work in the Virginia Wine industry. She is a wine consultant at many wineries and cideries in Virginia, helping many small and startup operations get going in the best possible ways. Unlike her other clients, she is much more than just a consultant at Stanburn Winery. She is the winemaker. She plays an incredibly important role in making decisions in the cellar and the direction the winery moves. She began making the wines for Stanburn starting with the 2011 harvest, and each year somehow produces better and better wines. She has become part of the family, even if she didn’t take on the Stanley name!
